In the early hours of May 22, 2016, heaven greeted its newest servant. After a long battle with cancer, Theresa June Pugh joined her parents Jacob and Theresa Miera and siblings Rachel Medina, Jake Miera, Hermalinda Miller and Naomi Robles in Hallelujah Square. She leaves her husband of 54 years, Dan E. Pugh and her children Lori (Joe) Montoya of Castle Rock, Larry, Leroy and Lyle Pugh of Denver, CO.
Theresa was born in Aguilar, CO on January 9, 1943 where she lived until 1958 when she moved to Pueblo, CO. She graduated from Centennial High School in June 1961. After graduation she moved to Edwards Air Force Base in CA where she met her husband, Dan and married him on March 3, 1962. After the wedding, they moved to Monrovia, CA. She and Dan welcomed the arrival of their daughter Lori June on 9/17/1963 and son Larry Eugene on 3/30/1965. In 1964 the family moved to Pomona, CA where they welcomed two more sons Leroy John on 12/8/1967 and Lyle Daniel on 5/23/1972. The Pugh family moved to Colorado in 1980 and lived in Trinidad. In 1982, they moved to Aguilar. Finally in 1983, they moved to Denver.
It was here in Denver that the Pugh family branched out by adding 6 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Leroy blessed Theresa and Dan with Gregory Felix on May 26, 1989, Lanessa Nicole 6/13/1990, Kaylena Lorielle 9/4/1992 and Taryn Krystle 4/16/1994. Lyle blessed them with Logan Joel 11/16/2006 and Lexsington Ariel on 3/1/2008. Greg blessed them with 1 great grandchild, Isabella Leylah on 2/12/2009. She loved her grandchildren and enjoyed being a part of their lives. They assure that her legacy continues
Theresa enjoyed cheering for the Colorado Rockies and Denver Broncos. Her hobbies were scrapbooking and photography leaving behind over 8000 pictures and many scrapbooks of her family, marriages and birthdays. She was a devoted fan of Elvis Presley. She also enjoyed genealogy where she documented her family tree. Sadly, she is the last of her linage, and she “turned out the light.”
Theresa served the Lord the majority of her life. One of her favorite scriptures was Psalm 121 (KJV)
I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth. He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber. Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep. The LORD is thy keeper: the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand. The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night. The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul. The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.
On Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at 6:00 PM there will be a family viewing. At 7:00 PM a Memorial Service will be held at Olinger Andrews Caldwell Gibson Chapel, 407 Jerry St. in Castle Rock, CO.
