Ruth died of natural causes at her home in Franktown, CO. She was born May 31, 1940 in Jackson, Missouri, the daughter of Harry and Carrie Talley.
Ruth graduated from Jackson High School in 1958. Following graduation, she worked as a flight attendant for Ozark Airlines and Mats Airline where she traveled throughout the world. After leaving the airlines she worked as a model for several clothing companies until she moved from California to Colorado with her husband, Charles "Chuck" Phillips, whom she married on December 18, 1962. In Colorado she owned and operated a boutique shop and a care facility. In 1989 she moved from Colorado to Alabama with her family where she owned and operated an antique shop. In 2000, she and her husband moved back to Colorado where she worked for Costco for over fifteen years.
Ruth enjoyed collecting antiques and spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Harry and Carrie Talley; a brother Carl Talley.
She is survived by her husband, Chuck Phillips; sons: Christopher "Todd" Phillips and his wife Caron, Brant Thomas Phillips and his wife Shelly, Andrew Lance Phillips and his wife Emily; grandchildren: Caitlyn, Cole, Cara, Faith, Van, and Finn.
Ruth and Chuck would have celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary on December 18, 2024.
Ruth left behind a legacy of kindness, humor, and service to her family, her friends, and her community.
A small family service will be held and a celebration of life will be held at a later date to be determined.
