He was married to his wife of 56 years, Isela Soto Alvarado, on September 9, 1967. Ralph served in the U.S. Army from May 24th, 1960 to May 15th, 1962. He worked as a painter for the Baldwin Park Unified School District for 28 years.
Ralph spent many, many years volunteering for the Lucky Baldwin Little League, and many years as a volunteer for Pop Warner’s Road Runner Football League. He had a passion for free-hand drawing, collecting rocks, crystals, and gems, as well as always working in the yard and reading the daily newspaper.
He is survived by his wife, Isela Soto Alvarado; his daughter Marlicha Alvarado, and his son-in-law Armando Lopez; his grandchildren, Michael Ismael Alvarado, Amanda Isela Lopez, Katheryn Neda Lopez, Bobbi Lopez, and Madison Petra Lopez Lawrence and his grandson-in-law, Toby Lopez Lawrence; his brothers and sisters, Fortino Alvarado, Raymond Alvarado, Ernesto Alvarado, Carmen Pacheo and Ramona Estrada.
He will be buried next to his beloved son, Ruben, at the Cedar Hill Cemetery in Castle Rock, Colorado.
Visitation for Ralph will be held Thursday, April 13, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Olinger Andrews Caldwell Gibson Chapel, 407 Jerry Street, Castle Rock, Colorado 80104, with his Rosary being recited at 7:30 PM.
Funeral Mass will occur Friday, April 14, 2023 at 10:00 AM at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 2746 Fifth St., Castle Rock, Colorado 80104.
Graveside service will occur Friday, April 14, 2023 at 11:30 AM at Cedar Hill Cemetery, 880 E. Wolfensberger Rd., Castle Rock, Colorado 80109.
Serving as active pallbearers are: Michael Alvarado, Nick "Rick" Aguilar, Javier "Junie" Soto, Christopher "Chris" Soto, Ruben Ramirez, Marlene Rene Urena.
Serving as honorary pallbearers are: Ernesto Ramirez, Armando Lopez and Ismael Appelzoller.
