It is with extreme sadness that we announce the passing of Marian Joan Harrison, 82, of Castle Rock, CO. Marian died early Thursday morning, July 7, 2022, at Parker Adventist Hospital in Parker, CO. Marian is survived by her husband of 61 years, Peter Arthur Harrison; two of their daughters, Martine Meeks and Michelle Moore; the memory of their daughter Marika Meeks whose death preceded Marian’s; and her beloved dog Wooftie. A loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Marian and her husband Peter had many adventures in their life including emigrating to America with their three daughters in 1978.
In 1989 they started a software company, Britannia, Inc., in Arroyo Grande, CA that they later relocated to Fort Wayne, IN and ran successfully for seventeen years. After selling the company in 2006 and retiring they moved to Tavares, FL to pursue their dream of traveling the world, spending many summers exploring Europe. Marian loved to sew and knit, she made many quilts and knitted numerous beautiful items for her family. She was active with the Quilt Guild in Tavares, FL for many years.
Marian’s feisty, driven, entrepreneurial, and optimistic nature inspired many around her and she continued to fight valiantly to the end. She will continue to be an inspiration to her remaining family including grandchildren: Matthew (Traci) Meeks, Amber (Brad) Hall, Benjamin (Taylor) Meeks, Emily (Joseph) Handshoe, Carly Hamilton, and Caitie Hamilton; ten great grandchildren; son-in-laws Dave, Nick and Brian; and her brother and sisters in England. We will all miss her dearly, and we were blessed to have her in our lives for so long.
Please take time to celebrate Marian’s life with your families and treasure your time together.
