Lois Ilene Watkins, 89, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, passed away Saturday, July 20, 2019. She was born in Cartersville, Oklahoma on August 10, 1929. She was 1 of 9 children born to Thomas and Leona Williams. She married George Watkins on December 6, 1947. They were blessed with 4 loving daughters. Ilene was a very proud mother of these girls and spent most of her years at home caring for her family. She was a long time member of the Church of Christ, the last several years of her life at the Castle Rock Church. She had a passion for cooking, crocheting, traveling and spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughters, Linda (Leslie) Mayberry, Susan Watkins, Cindy (Terry) Wilmore and Michelle (Chris) Weber; 11 grandchildren, Brock (Tonya) Mayberry, Trent (Rachel) Mayberry, Kaitlan Wilmore, Caleb Wilmore, Ali Watkins, Breann Weber, Kylee Weber, Jace Weber, Tyshauwn Weber, Sande Weber, and Sammie Weber; 2 great grandchildren, Mackenzie Jean Mayberry and Erin Mayberry; and five siblings, Doris Heathcock, Mary (Bob) English, Glendal (Wyvonne) Williams, Patsy (Bob) Campbell, and Venda (Roger) Gregory.
She will be remembered and her life celebrated during visitation hours, Tuesday, July 23 from 4-8 pm at Olinger Andrews Chapel, 407 Jerry St. Castle Rock, Colorado. A service in her honor will be held Wednesday, July 24, 4pm at Castle Rock Church of Christ, 2247 5th St., Castle Rock, Colorado
There will be a Memorial Gathering and Committal Service on Friday, August 9, 2019, 10 am at White County Memorial Garden, Carmi, Illinois
