Kathryn Marie Wright was born in May 1945 to Norbert and Dottie Rausch in Graceville, MN. She was raised and attended grade school in Big Stone City, SD and graduated from high school at St. Francis High School in Little Falls, MN. She then attended and graduated with a BA from Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI where her love of music continued as a member of the college choir. After teaching for a year in Milwaukee, her spirit of adventure led her to a position in Kingman, AZ. It was there where she met and married Bruce Wright in 1970. She then went back to school and got a Master’s degree from Northern Arizona University. Life then took the family to Illinois where daughter Martha was born, California where son Jeremy was born, and Colorado where son Nathan was born. There were stints in Idaho and Pennsylvania as well. In the past 30 years, the family has made its home in Franktown and Castle Rock, CO.
She passed away April 21, 2021. She is predeceased by her parents Norbert and Dottie Rausch, brother Jerrold (Jerry) Rausch and son Jeremy. She is survived by husband, Bruce; daughter, Martha Campbell; son, Nathan. She is also survived by brothers Jim (Lori) Rausch, Dave (Jean) Rausch, sister, Rosanna (Mark) Svobodny and sister-in-law Winona Rausch as well as nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Kathryn was involved in numerous volunteer organizations, enjoyed music and singing and time with her family. People recognized her for her smile and laughter. She had a warm disposition and is fondly remembered as a close friend by many. She was an excellent baker, too, taking on an annual tradition of baking fruitcake for family and friends at Christmas. She is in our hearts and will be missed.
