Kathleen Jean Giebel

Born on May 17th, 1947, in Cincinnati, Ohio, Kathy was the cherished eldest child of Jean and Tony Venuto, growing up alongside six adoring siblings. She learned to be tough and independent growing up in a busy household, qualities that she carried throughout her journey.

A kind soul, Kathy pursued her teaching degree, graduating from the University of Cincinnati with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education. She started her career as an elementary school teacher in Cincinnati until the arrival of her first son, Brian, in 1972. Her path soon took her to Colorado where she welcomed her second son, Mark, in 1975. Kathy lovingly raised her family in the same cherished Acres Green home that remained a cornerstone of her life until her passing.

Kathy’s spirit illuminated every aspect of her life. She embraced athleticism, showcasing her skills in various sports throughout her life but particularly excelled in tennis. Her artistic talents were expressed through her paintings and drawings. She even sang in a couple of choirs along the way, loudly.

A dedicated mother and a woman of strength, Kathy juggled her roles with grace. She coached youth soccer, shaping not just her sons but also the young hearts she touched. Later in life, she found fun in rollerblading at Washington Park, gardening, yoga, prayer, and cursing.

Even as her mind began to fail her she remained physically strong and capable.

Kathy is survived by her sons Brian and Mark, their devoted wives Amy and Kristi, and step-grandchildren Trevor and Avery. She leaves behind a legacy of love and strength, cherished by her six siblings, numerous nieces, nephews, and a community of lifelong friends who held her close to their hearts.

Kathy Giebel will be remembered for her unwavering love and spirited nature.
