Born by Ova and Maebelle Wheeler in Catlettsburg, Kentucky on December 9, 1931. Joe graduated from South Point High School in 1950 and went on to earn his doctorate from Tulane Medical School in New Orleans in 1957. He had a very successful career as an OB/GYN and was a member of The American College of Surgeons and the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. He fell in love with the west and moved to Cody, Wyoming where he and his wife Clara always called home. Joe is survived by his sons, Joe Wheeler, Jr., Scott Wheeler, Brian Wheeler and his daughter Laura Reynolds, We will miss Joe’s dry sense of humor and his everlasting smile. He passed peacefully in his sleep on February 1, 2020
