James and Elaine spent their first 4 years in the Brighton Colorado area.
They moved to Castle Rock, Colorado in early 1950's. James was a Dairy Farmer (from childhood until January 1966.) After farming he worked as a mechanic for Cummings Equipment in Franktown. Then he had a long time association with Rock Bowl in Castle Rock. He was the Manager for the 10 lane establishment. His last venture was working for Tru-Value Hardware in Castle Rock.
While dad was in High School he loved building things. He had completed a full bedroom set out of wood and while on the farm he was always building furniture of some sort, whether out of wood or iron. In 1951 Dad was the "Farmer of the Year" for Douglas County.
He was remembered by customers at the hardware store, who just came in for his "jokes" or perhaps for his help in fixing a problem. If they didn't have it, he made something else work.

Also surviving are three cheldren, DianaH of Castle Rock, Kathy O. of Castle Rock and Mike Andersen of Larkspur.
