Isaac was the son of Isaac and Mary Lucille (Vinyad)Bell was born in Russeville, TN on September 12, 1930. He enlisted in the Navy September 1947. He worked his way up from and enlisted to Lieutenant Commander.
When he retired he had served 27 years in the Navy. He was Officer in Charge of Naval Shore Activity and Food Service Administration. His last tour of duty was in Long Beach, CA where he was officer in charge of Food Service Team. He also served on several aircraft carriers. Isaac received the China Service Medal; National Defense Service Medal with one Star; Vietnam Service Medal; Vietnam Campaign Medal; Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal (Vietnam) and Good Conduct Medal with 4 Stars. Isaac enjoyed riding motorcycles, gardening, traveling hiking, the ocean, and helping anyone who needed help. He was a very giving, caring and quiet man.
Isaac was united in marriage to Genevieve (Jean) Bell in San Pedro, CA on January 24, 1976. Surviving is his wife of 41 years; son Daniel Bell of Sandy, OR; Christopher Dykstra of Castle Rock, CA; Richard Dykstra of Milford, KS; daughter Rebecca Echevarria of Mesquite, TX; Linda Gillette of Castle Rock, CO; 4 grandsons;5 granddaughters; 4 great grandsons; 4 great granddaughters; 2 brothers 1 sister. Isaac was preceded in death by 2 sons, 1 sister and 2 brothers.
Memorial services will be celebrated on Friday, September 22, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Olinger funeral home 407 Jerry St. Castle Rock, CO 80104. Pastor Barry White from Park Valley Church in Haymarket, VA will perform the service. United States Navy Honor Guard and Patriots Guards will be bestowing full military honors.
Olinger funeral home is assisting Isaac’s family in his arrangements.
