Glen was born in Willmar, MN on January 23rd, 1948 as the younger of two sons to the late Wayne N and Arlette M. Rouse. He spent his youth on the family farm and was active in 4-H and FFA. It was during these years that his love of animals was nurtured, as he was showing and judging beef, swine and sheep with his brother Gene. He exhibited livestock at the Renville Co fair, the Minnesota State Fair, and the state 4-H Market Livestock Show. He was also a gifted musician and enjoyed playing the piano and the French horn. He graduated from Olivia High School in 1966 where he was president of the senior class and also played baseball and basketball. He attended the University of Minnesota where he completed a BS degree in animal science, followed by a degree in veterinary medicine. His veterinary training continued with an internship at Angell Memorial Animal Hospital in Boston, and a surgical residency at the University of Illinois. He then accepted a small animal staff surgical position at CSU Veterinary Teaching Hospital, later starting his own small animal surgical referral practice in Denver. Along with his wife of 33 years, Peg Wykes DVM DACVS, Glen developed and owned Colorado Veterinary Specialists and Animal ER located in Littleton, Colorado. After mostly retiring from veterinary practice in 2013 he restored an old historic 1800's ranch in Larkspur, Colorado where he also enjoyed farming, horses and developed a purebred Red Angus herd of cattle. He dearly loved working with his cattle and had a passion for John Deere tractors, Denver Bronco football and Colorado Rockies baseball.
Glen is preceded in death by his, parents Wayne N, and Arlette Rouse. He is survived by his wife Peg Wykes, brother Gene (Marita) Rouse of Huxley, Iowa, nephews Adam and Paul Rouse and Roger Wykes, nieces Julie Coffman (Kris) and Angela Rajnus (Matt).
