I am Del's cousin Sandy (Woodward) Mercier.  I am so sorry to hear of Dels passing, he will be greatly missed. I have such fond memories of Del. He and I are only a year apart in age,  and when our families got together he was such a scamp,  he used to tease me alot. Then later as we were in High School we had a rivalry between Sheridan High School and Bear Creek HS,  because my boyfriend and later husband played football at Bear Creek and we had several pre-season games that were a hoot. I loved all of the photos the family shared and they too brought back wonderful memories. We had a family Reunion recently and I am so glad I got to see him again and enjoy reminiscing about the good old days.  Lovingly Sandy

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Dale. What a great Neighbor he has always been! Just a couple of weeks ago, he brought over his big "pride and joy" tractor so that i could mow around my pasture. He refused to really show me how to operate it, he just knew i would figure it out! 
He always had a positive thought to share with me and made me feel like i have actually accomplished something in my life. Our joke, was for "me to be like him when i grow up!"
You will be greatly missed by a girl next door that so appreciated your knowledge, wisdom and always that sense of humor!

Dale was such a nice and funny man.  All the years of him coming into the B&B and having coffee with the boys.  He is a long time family friend of the Potters.  We wish peace for him and his family.

You could have ignored the calls and questions from me. Instead you let me be part of your family. You embraced me from the start. I will always remember our first breakfast together. You shared your life story with me . We both laughed about the past and the  1960’s when he said his lifestyle was so different!  He said “Girl “ you’re mine! I am very very sad to hear of Del’s passing. We attended elementary and high school together.  I moved to California shortly after graduating from high school,  but continued to see him at our class reunions. I have  so many fond memories of him and he will be sorely missed by all who knew him. My sincerest thoughts and prayers to his family.

We say goodbye to one of the good ones! I have known  Del for 67 years.  In 1956 we were awkward teenagers at Sheridan Union High.  Those were the days that everyone knew everyone.  As a cheerleader, I was on my knees pounding the mat yelling....."pin him Del, pin him".  I was even his Prom date.  Only because his best friend was going with my best friend.  Don't think Del had eyes for me but he sure was a good friend. 
Thru the years we remained in touch thru reunions, and unfortunately funerals.  
Del never changed in those years.  He was the real deal.  Smart, genuine, generous, supportive and hard working just to name a few. He adored his family and his friends and will be missed but remembered as, THE REAL DEAL!  My thoughts are with all of you. You were blessed to share your life with such a wonderful man

The famous gray carpet squares are still around!  My dad used them for a lot of different things.  My dog's feet stay cool while we mow and he's got more traction!  :)

Our prayers are with you Del! You being such a kind man, you were always there for Steve. You were so sincere asking and advising him about things like his work truck which you found for us.  You always asked Steve about putting a building up for his equipment and of course the golf cart we have from you! What better way to buzz around the property! Del you are already missed and we will see you again when we get to the other side too.

My prayers and condolences go out to all the family and friends. 
Rest in Peace Mr. Woodward.  You will be missed by many.

I think I was in Grade school when Carol and Delbert married but have often thought of their wedding, or rather their reception. I may have the facts blurred in my memory , but recall Carol being absconded from the reception by Del’s brothers, and Del had to fend on his own for quite sometime without his new bride. I believe Carol’s mom was fit to be tied? Eventually Carol was returned and Del ((as well as Carol) seemed to take this event in stride. Even at my young age, I recall witnessing a sweetness in Del in how he took this in the humor his brothers intended and how he managed being the center of attention at his reception without Carol. This may not be an accurate account but a memory I’ve always had and think of from time to time.
