Declan was a visionary who envisioned a vigorous exploration, and settlement of space that is enabled by the legal community.
I'm proud to have served with him in these endeavors.

Declan and I shared some very momentus life experiences together for many years in Denver; both business and personal.....kindred spirits, as they say.
Declan had a heart of "gold" and had Jesus as his savior. Linda and Declan were a great couple together. He loved his family and took care of them.
I miss him also....memories of our times together are still vivid.
My condolence to his family and Linda...a loving wife to Declan.

He was more than that to me.
He was a friend.
Indeed his wit was unparalleled, his thinking was creative, his charm and generosity was rare.  
Over the last nearly 40 years we worked together, had innumerable calls, meetings, shared a few fine meals and drank a small sea of incredibly nasty coffee.
His voice, blue eyes that squinted &  furrowed brow when writing on the yellow pad as  he captured thoughts that could & often did, make a difference to someone's life remain etched in my mind. He remained true to what a Counselor, Confidant and Friend should be.
I'll miss you Declan.  See you in the morning.

You were a very bright spot for our family.  Mark, Martin and I knew you, loved you and enjoyed the warmth of your friendship since 1997. 

You were a visionary in the field of space governance and law.  United Societies in Space [USIS] is here because of you.   The Constitution of the United Societies in Space [which has acted as precedent for individual liberty, freedom and the rule of law in Space since the USIS Constitutional Convention over twelve years ago] is a testament to your vision and leadership.  This very large contribution becomes increasingly important as time passes and space development grows.

You are greatly missed already and you leave a legacy to us all.

Ad astra Declan! You have blazed the pathways of Space Law for all of us. You remain a dedicated pioneer of the heavens.

Somehow he always managed to get to family affairs of which there were many. We all appreciated the effort it took. Once even flying in from Amsterdam to attend my daughters wedding. Thanks from brother Michael

Declan was a visionary who understood that our future depends on becoming a true spacefaring species. My condolences and very found memories of working with Declan in the past and especially his kindness and support when my father passed away.

Declan was fully dedicated to humans living among the stars. The stars will be watching over him.

I loved all the great conversations we had, around the world, conference after conference, about space governance and other issues surrounding interplanetary settlement. He shall be greatly missed.

Loved all the photos from Declan's journey thru life. He was fun loving, interesting, loving and so handsome. Will surely miss him but wish him peace!
