David Allan Humphrey, 65 of Parker, Colorado, died on Tuesday December 27, 2022. He was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan on December 18, 1957, to Robert Franklin and Phyllis Louise Humphrey. David lived in Lynchburg, Virginia during his formative years. He graduated from E.C. Glass High School in 1976. He matriculated to Virginia Military Institute and graduated in 1980. David then started his career in the United States Air Force. He went to the Air Force Institute of Technology and received his master’s degree in Engineering Management in 1982. David traveled and worked in the Air Force until he retired in 1996. He then went to work for Lockheed Martin and retired again in 2006. David’s last career act was working with other companies in the Data Center field, where he ultimately started a company with three military friends. During this time, he had the opportunity to travel the world until his last retirement in 2016 when he became a grandfather (Pop).
David was married to Lisa Staton Humphrey for 42 years. He is also survived by his son, Steven David Humphrey (Amanda), granddaughters Savannah Mae (6) and Charlotte Pearl (3) Humphrey, and brother Michael Dale Humphrey.
David loved his family and enjoyed backpacking, hiking, fly fishing, riding his road bike and traveling with Lisa. He loved spending time with his granddaughters, watching them ride horses and participating in all their many activities. David particularly enjoyed the car rides with them, taking them to and from school. He was a member of Fort Hill UMC in Lynchburg, VA and Smoky Hill UMC in Centennial, CO.
