Charlie Anna Owens climbed up onto her unicorn and flew off with the Angels on April 15, 2023 after 15 month long battle with retinoblastoma, a rare and aggressive childhood cancer of the eye.
Charlie was born to Meagan Owens and Clayton Hebert on December 19, 2018 in Castle Rock, Colorado. Charlie lived with her mother Meagan, brothers Ryden and Daniel, dogs Ricky Dale Jr. and Sparky, and her baby chick Queen Elsa in La Veta, Colorado.
Charlie spread love freely to everyone in everything she did, often going up to random people and hugging them, always saying “I love you”, “Your the best” and “But that’s ok”. Her favorite things were Queen Elsa, singing Frozen songs, snuggling, unicorns, pink bandaids, her chickens, food truck tacos, roasting marshmallows while watching the stars, going to school, and spending time with friends and family.
Charlie was survived by her mother, father, two brothers, siblings Tessa and Titon Hebert, Grandma Caroline, Grandpa Jay, Uncle Marcus and Aunt Jenny, Auntie Portia, Cory, and cousins Rowan and Leela, and her baby chicks, especially Queen Elsa.
Charlie was preceded in death by Grandpa Mark, Grandma Rhonda, and her beloved chickens Doobie, Roach, and Hennifer Lopez.
A Celebration of Life will be held in La Veta on May 20th @ 1:00 at the Owens’ Ranch. There will be a second Celebration of Life and Memorial Service held in Castle Rock in early June, TBA. Charlie has requested for everyone to dress as Princesses, Superheroes, Unicorns, or in colorful attire. She would always say, “I hate black! Black is ugly!”
In lieu of flowers please consider donating blood. A Go Fund Me has been set up to help the family with expenses. https://gofund.me/66457e37
