After a valiant 27-year battle with lupus, Anne Margaret “Margot” Purdy, 51, of Larkspur, died peacefully on April 18, 2015, at home and surrounded by family and a close friend. She was born in Fullerton, California on July 8, 1963 to William P. and Mary A. Purdy. She is preceded in death by her father, William P. Purdy; brother, Kevin G. Purdy; and maternal and paternal grandparents.
Anne was an avid crocheter. She found a great deal of joy in creating beautiful afghans and giving her creations to loved ones as well as donating them to charity. She also had a lifelong love of reading, and it wasn’t very often that she met a book, or bookmark she didn’t like. Family was her pride and joy, and spending time with them was her priority. She had a wicked wit and loved to laugh, get silly, dance and make funny faces, all of which she retained until the very end. More often than not, she would greet you with, “How are things in Gloccamorra?!” and leave you with, “I love you more!” She had some favorite sayings, but none more cherished and loved by her daughters than, “Go fly! Be FREE!”
Her legacy includes four daughters: Alicia Robins, Chelsea Robins, Megan Robins, and Kiri Robins; and three grandchildren: McKinnon, Eleanor, and Everett. She leaves behind her mother, Mary A. Purdy; brother, Damian P. Purdy; sister, Jennifer L. Allen (Purdy); as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held at Saint Helena Catholic Church in Fort Morgan, Colorado 917 W. 7th Avenue. Rosary will be said at 10;00 a.m.The Memorial Mass starting at 11:00 a.m. with Father Frank Garcia . There will be a luncheon following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Lupus Foundation of America.
