Benny was born December 25, 1944 in Smithfield, NC to the late Carlie Morris and Mae Louise Stephenson Morris. He was a veteran of the US Army and was employed as a carpenter for many years.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Carolyn Rebecca Morris; brothers, A.C. Morris and Ray Morris; and sister, Jackie Morris Perry.
Benny is survived by his sons, Channing Morris of San Jose, CA; and Ashley Morris of Raleigh; brother, Jerry Morris; sister, Lou Hamilton; and sister-in-law, Carolyn A. Morris.
A funeral service will be held 2 pm Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at White Plains United Methodist Church in Cary. Burial will follow the service at Raleigh Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 1-2 pm prior to the service at the church.
