Originally from Charlestown, MA, the son of the late John and Alice Curtin and brother of the late Patricia Kensinger, Richard Curtin and John Curtin. He was a dedicated son, brother, uncle, father, grandfather and loving husband. He liked to fish, watch football, was a ferocious reader, lover of history, science fiction and enjoyed trivia.
After moving to Easton MA he enjoyed coaching his son's baseball team and holding the yardage chains, in all kinds of weather, during football games. He became a Scout Master so he could share his love of camping, fishing and responsibility to young boys to help them become great men. He loved trivial pursuit and would watch Jeopardy nightly, getting most of the questions correct every time.
William graduated from Bridgewater State University with a degree in English. After graduation he was a writer for the local Bridgewater newspaper and thought often about writing a book. He enjoyed telling everyone about the time he was a FIT model for a local plus size clothing company and took pride in being the perfect 4x size. He enjoyed watching football on Sundays and cheered for the New York Giants, New England Patriots and Carolina Panthers after moving to North Carolina.
A very quick-witted, well read man who was affectionately known as "Uncle Bully" will be missed by many. William is survived by his companion and wife of 50 years Marguerite (Marge), daughter Diane and her husband Peter, sons Robert, Timothy and his wife Daniela, sister Evelyn and her late husband George, brothers James and his wife Linda, Thomas and his wife Karen, sisters-in law Maureen, Sandra, Ann and her husband James, brother-in-laws Joseph and his wife Lucille, Johnny and his wife Donna, many beloved nieces and nephews and five beautiful grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are respectively invited to attend a viewing on Friday, October 28, 2022 from 1-2 pm, with a short service immediately following at the Brown-Wynne Funeral home, 200 SE Maynard St Cary, NC. 27511. The family will hold a memorial service in Massachusetts at a later date.
