Timothy Robert Murphy, 52, died October 1, 2014. He was born on August 22, 1962 in Poughkeepsie, NY. Tim graduated from Cary High School in 1981. He retired after 24 years of service with the Cary Fire Department.
Tim is the son of Robert and Delia Murphy of Emerald Isle; father of Ashley Murphy of Cary, Whitney Murphy of Holly Springs, Timothy Murphy II of Apex, Brady Murphy of Apex, and Hayley Murphy of Apex; brother of Kathleen Abode (Gary) of Cary and Maureen Murphy of Beulaville. He also was an uncle to several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held 2:00pm Sunday, October 5, 2014 at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 200 SE Maynard Road, Cary, NC 27511. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Tim can be made to NC Fallen Firefighters Foundation, 2501 Blue Ridge Road, Suite 250, Raleigh, NC 27607.
