He was born January 14, 1965 in Waukesha County, WI, the son of the late Charles Walter John Anstey and Joyce Elizabeth Cull Anstey.
Tom attended the University of Wisconsin and started his career at the Milwaukee Sign Company. He moved to North Carolina in 1989, and earned a degree in mechanical drafting at Wake Tech. He worked for Butler Service Group for 3 years, then hired on to Caterpillar. He worked as a mechanical drafter, designer and an IT manager, and had recently celebrated his 20 year anniversary.
Tom loved to ride his motorcycles, and rode as far as Key West, FL and Sturgis, South Dakota. Tom also loved photography and shot nature scenes, family portraits, weddings, and photo shoots. He often took photography for official Caterpillar events.
Tom was kind and generous, always willing to help out a friend and offer encouragement. He enjoyed spending time with his many friends. He will be missed by all who knew him.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 7, 2015 at the Brown-Wynne Funeral Home in Cary. A visitation will immediately follow.
