Susan Welch Young, age 71, of Cary, NC, passed on to a better place on March 22, 2022. She is preceded in death by her parents, Waylon Thomas Welch and Wiliah Ree Day Welch.
Susan graduated from Helena High School in 1968. She received a degree in radiology technology and worked over 50 years in this field. Susan truly loved her work and the patients. She also enjoyed novels, beach trips, and shopping. Susan's greatest love was her family.
Susan is survived by her son, David (Katie) Thomas Young and daughter, Pamela (Allen) Young O'Neal. She was a proud grandmother of two: Brett Thomas Blalock and Brady Ellis Blalock.
The family is planning a celebration of life and will notify family and friends of the date and time.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or ASPCA.
