Susan Dicus Walters

Susan Elizabeth Dicus Walters, age 75, of Cary, NC stepped into the full presence and Glory of God on Sunday, January 22, 2023. The daughter of Talmadge Lafayette Dicus and Mary Selma Coman Dicus; Susan was born in Asheville, North Carolina on January 4, 1948. Her family soon moved to Winston-Salem where she was raised, along with her three siblings, Jane Dicus, William (Bill) Dicus and Marie Dicus Ivester.

Winston-Salem is where Susan met and fell in love with her High School Sweetheart, Richard Walters. They married after High School eventually settling in Charlotte, NC where they raised their two sons, Scott and Tim Walters. Susan was a loving Mother and homemaker for years but found her calling utilizing the education degree she earned from Guildford College by working with Audrey Metcalf at the Weekday School at First Baptist Church in Charlotte, NC.

Susan is survived by her two sisters, Jane and Marie, as well as by her two sons and their families: Scott and Crystal Walters and their children Reagan, McNamee (Mac) and Meredith; and Tim and Anna Walters and their children Ty, Ben and Paige.

Memorial Services will be held Friday, January 27, 2023 at 11:00 am at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home in Huntersville, NC, followed by a Graveside Service at 3:30 pm at Forsyth Memorial Park in Winston Salem, NC.

A Memorial Service will also occur Saturday, January 28, 2023 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of Brown-Wynne Funeral Home in Cary, NC. Family to receive friends following.
