Susan Barrow Nadel

Susan Barrow Nadel of Apex, NC passed away peacefully on August 28, 2022 at the age of 69 in Holly Springs, NC. She is survived by her husband of 25 years, Douglas Nadel, brother Wayne Barrow (Linda) of Milford, New Hampshire, and seven nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Jesse Howard Barrow (Elsie) of Raleigh, NC and her brother Roger Barrow (Deborah).

Susan taught kindergarten and first grade for 24 years, first in Johnston County and then in Wake County. She also taught English as a Second Language (ESL) for 14 years at Adams Elementary School in Wake County. After she retired, Susan volunteered with several programs where she continued her passion for teaching young children. Susan was an avid horseback rider and loved animals, outdoor activities and travel. For over 10 years, she was a regular at contra dances in the Triangle and up and down the East Coast.

Susan will be remembered as a kind and caring person who loved reading, teaching, and children. She was a loving wife and a steadfast friend.

A memorial service will be held at 7:00 pm, September 1, 2022 at Beth Shalom, 5713 Yates Mill Pond Road, Raleigh, NC .
