Sue W. Baldwin, age 88, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 30, 2024. She was born in Franklin, NC to Haughton and Kate Williams and married Jack Baldwin also of Franklin in 1956. They ultimately settled in Raleigh, NC.
Sue completed her undergraduate work at WCU and Master’s at NCSU and taught the Sciences at Garner Sr High for over 30 years. She joined Ephesus upon arrival in Raleigh serving in the Choir, Handbell Choir (which she started), Sunday School, WMU and many other ongoing volunteer opportunities. Sue was known for her beautiful yard, full of a variety of flowers blooming throughout the year. She was a teacher by profession and found ongoing joy throughout her elder years teaching others about plants, flowers, harvesting, canning and cooking. Her adventures were typically within book covers where she enjoyed just about every type of literature written. Sue was known for her charitable support throughout her years and generosity with all she came in contact with.
Sue was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Baldwin and survived by two daughters: Caroline B. Jackson (Joe) and Kathey B. Brown (Bud); grandchildren, (Jacob, Brian, Alex, Carley) and three great-grandchildren, (Camryn, Jackson, Rosie).
Family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 7, 2024 from 10:00 am until 10:45 am at Ephesus Baptist Church in Raleigh. Funeral Services, officiated by Rev. Greg Templin, will begin at 11:00 am at the church.
A Graveside Service, officiated by Rev. Steve Reeves, will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at 1:00 pm at Iotla Baptist Church in Franklin, NC.
