Steve was born January 30, 1947 in Louisburg, NC. He was a graduate of Louisburg High School, Hardbarger Business College, Kings College and Wake Technical Community College. Steve was a Vietnam War veteran of the US Army. He was employed as an insurance adjuster and later as a NC State Government courier.
He was preceded in death by his father, Wilburt Bobbitt.
Steve is survived by his wife of 42 years, Nancy Sawyer Bobbitt; son, John Thomas Bobbitt and his wife Roselyn of Knightdale; mother, Madeline Bobbitt; grandchildren, Payton and James Bobbitt.
A memorial visitation will be held 12-2 pm Friday, September 20, 2013 at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 200 SE Maynard Road, Cary, NC 27511.
