Sharyn "Sherrie" A. Stockdale Williamson

Sharyn “Sherrie” A. (Stockdale) Williamson, 68, of Cary, NC, died on August 15, 2012 after a long battle with cancer. She was born in Nyack, NY on December 6, 1944. She was the first born daughter of seven children to the late Arthur B. and Evelyn D. Stockdale, formerly of Monroe, NY. Sherrie retired from Lederle Laboratories in Pearl River, NY after 28 years of service. She and her husband, Jack, retired and moved to Cary, NC where they loved living. She was employed in NC for 5 years by E.R.A. Real Estate of Cary. Sherrie had an interest in real estate and remodeling.

Sherrie is survived by her husband of 28 years, Westley “Jack” Williamson; stepsons, Gary Williamson of Elmira, NY and Keith Williamson of Bloomingburgh, NY; stepdaughters, Cheryl Matuszeuski of Bloomingburgh, NY and Nancy Baker of Summerville, SC; brother, Arthur D. Stockdale and wife, Roni of Satellite Beach, FL; sisters, Kathleen Earl of Smoot, WV, JoAnn Daubert of Broken Arrow, OK, Patricia Smith and husband, Peter of Wallkill, NY and Barbara Stockdale of Melbourne, FL; aunt, Dorothy Kleiber; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins; and her two cats that she cherished.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Jeannette Stockdale; niece, Lauryn Stockdale; sister-in-law, Julie Grossarth Stockdale; and nephew, Peter D. Smith.

Sherrie showed her family and friends how to live and fight courageously in her battle with cancer. She will be greatly missed.

A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 200 S.E. Maynard Road, Cary, NC 27511. Burial will follow at Wake Memorial Park, 7002 Green Hope School Road, Cary, NC 27519.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
