Robert Leslie Layton, 85, of Apex died on April 18, 2017. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joan F. Layton, his parents, Frank and Tennie Mae Layton, two siblings, and son Thomas D. Layton.
Robert attended Texas A&M where graduated with a bachelor’s degree. Following college, he joined the Army, and was stationed in Washington D.C. He made his career in marketing, holding many top level positions with companies such as STP, Prestone and Rust-Oleum Paint Company. Robert was an avid football watcher, rooting for the Dallas Cowboys and Texas A&M. His family remembers him as very a very kind, funny, and sarcastic man.
Robert is survived by his children, Robert L Layton, Jr. (Beth) and Marylou Layton-Eccles; grandchildren, Kenneth Layton, Richie Layton and Stephanie Eccles.
Interment for Robert will be held in the future in Dallas, Texas.
