To Richard's family, words can not express how saddened I was to hear from my brother, Jay, about Richard's passing. Truthfully, I am still in shock over it. I spoke with Richard a couple of years back and he was so interested in having a gathering of all us cousins. I know he'll still be there when we do it. It's obvious in the video that he played a powerful role in each of your lives and that he'll be greatly missed. You are all in my thoughts and prayers as you go onward from here.

He was a great dad. He IS a great dad. He didn't say or preach how to do the right thing. He demonstrated it. When it was easy raising me, he loved it. When it was difficult, he still loved it. He sacrificed for both my sister and I, from time to things that he held dear, to make sure we were always taken care of. Those lessons that he demonstrated will live on through us and I hope I can be half as good of a dad as he was.

Over the years I have worked with many. Richard was one of my favorites. I called him ‘old man’ and Ricky Bobby. He’d always smile or laugh at yhe Ricky Bobby. Condolences to the family, he will be missed.

Word's can't express the loss of a wonderful co worker. So hard to believe.  Richard would gladly explain or show me something work related even when he had his own department to do.  He'd make you laugh in the morning, even me being down He'd make my day.  After working with someone so long.  You start treating them like family away from home.  My prayers go out to his wife and family that he loved dearly.  Richard has so many friends/ family at foodlion that's going to miss him dearly.  Rest in peace,  your work here is done.  God needed you more. 🙏 You gained your wings.

There are so many memories of my dad, but I always loved how the animals were always so drawn to him~ They loved him just as much as everyone of us.

My dad had a love for westerns, how many times did I catch him watching the same ones over and over again? How many times was I dragged into watching them from a single glance? So much of my interests came from this man~

My deepest regrets to Joy & family. 

As one of Richard’s leaders, I can say he was surprising in my ways.

He was his own, but had a way with folks that will last a lifetime. He was humble & willing to share hisself to whom would listen.
He was funny. Charismatic. Loved his family very much, in fact, we talked about it frequently. He loved deeply and will be missed by so many. He was an old school man willing to be vulnerable to new things. We often joked but he was reliable & a man of his word.
