Paul Lawrence Fourie

Paul Lawrence Fourie, 69, lifelong resident of the Cary area, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, December 22, 2016. He was a dedicated son, loyal brother, loving father, doting grandfather, and well-respected Realtor.

Paul graduated from Cary High School in 1965 and North Carolina State University in 1969. He began a career in sales which very briefly took him to Tennessee. Paul's interest in sales ultimately resulted in his lifelong career as a Realtor. He was honored with Realtor Emeritus status in 2013 by the National Association of Realtors for his 40 years of service as a Realtor. Paul also spent time as a builder and developer.

Paul devoted his life to providing for his children. His dedication to them was unwavering. Paul's three grandchildren were the source of much happiness and pride.

He is survived by daughter Ashley Fourie Lee and husband Shawn, son Stephen Paul Fourie, brother Joseph Separk Fourie and wife Judy, sister Patricia Fourie Gonzalez and husband Ricardo, and grandchildren Walker Ashton Lee, Colton Britt Lee, and Gabriella Claire Lee. He is also survived by several cousins, nephews, and a niece.

Paul was preceded in death by brother Louis Jr., father Louis Johannes Fourie, and mother Gertrude Thiem Separk Fourie.

Services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 200 SE Maynard Road in Cary. Visitation will immediately follow the service. Burial will be at a later date at historic Oakwood Cemetery in Raleigh, alongside his parents.
