Pat was born on January 17, 1936 in Washington, DC. The eldest daughter of James W. Nalls and Annette Magill Nalls, Pat grew up in Washington, DC and graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School. She attended the University of Maryland and American University and worked at the National Bureau of Standards in Washington, DC where she met her future husband Herbert Dixon. Pat moved with her family to Cary, NC in 1979, where she lived for over 40 years.
Pat was a devout Christian, loving wife, a wonderful mother, and a thoughtful friend. She was an avid reader, loved arts and crafts, crocheting, and she traveled all over the country with her late husband. She was a devoted member of First United Methodist Church of Cary, NC where she played in the hand bell choir and was active in the United Methodist Women. She was famous for her chocolate pound cakes, spaghetti dinners and Christmas cookies. Pat was kind and generous, and loved caring for and spending time with her family; especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Pat was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Herbert D. Dixon of Cary, NC; her parents, James W. Nalls and Annette Magill Nalls of Washington D.C.; and her brothers, Captain John L. Nalls, USMC of Washington, DC and James W. Nalls, Jr. of Silver Spring, MD.
Pat is survived by her four children Susan Dixon Williams (David) of Holly Springs, NC; Cathy Dixon Howard (Joe) of Oxford, NC; Steven Dixon (Shannon) of Holly Springs, NC; and Debbie Dixon Patterson (Derek) of Fuquay-Varina, NC. She also leaves behind six grandchildren, Sarah Williams, Stephen Williams (Allison), Caitlyn Dixon, Conner Dixon Altman (Drew), Rhys Patterson, and Kyra Patterson; and four beloved great grandchildren. She is survived by her siblings, sisters Mary Lou Baden of Edgewater, MD and Janet Nazarian (Armen) of Washington, DC; and brother the Reverend Charles Nalls (Elizabeth) of Amherst, VA.

The family will receive family and friends on Friday, October 21, 2022 from 10:00-11:00 AM at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 200 SE Maynard Rd, Cary, NC 27511. Funeral service to follow at 11:00 AM with graveside interment at Wake Memorial Park, 7002 Green Hope School Rd, Cary, NC 27519.
