Marie A. Jazwa

She was born July 6, 1927 in Newark, NJ to parents Stephen and Elizabeth Meringer, as one of ten siblings. Marie grew up in Newark and went to Arts Highs. She married Walter Jazwa on May 13, 1950 and relocated to Rahway, NJ, when they bought their first house, and raised their three children.

Marie loved being active and had a passion for travel, reading and volunteering at her church where she was an active member of Divine Mercy Parish, St Mary’s Church of Rahway, NJ for over 60 years. She was a career librarian at St. Mary’s School in Rahway and later at St. Patrick’s High School in Elizabeth, NJ.

Marie was predeceased by her husband, Walter Edward Jazwa and by her son, Kenneth Jazwa.

She is survived by her sons; Walter Jazwa and wife Patricia, of Queen Creek, Arizona and Thomas Jazwa and wife Donna, of Cary, North Carolina, five grandchildren; Chris Jazwa and wife Kaitlyn, Kyle Jazwa and wife Kimberley, Laurissa Reager and husband Deglan, Jackie Boshart and husband Mike, and Amelia Jazwa and four great-grandchildren; Joshua and Eliana Reager and Mason and Charlotte Boshart.

The family will receive friends on Monday, December 18, 2023, from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home in Cary, North Carolina. A Prayer Service, officiated by Father Chris Koehn, of St. Mary Magdalene will begin at 11:00 am at the funeral home.
