A native of Cleveland, Ohio. Malcolm’s life was marked by a strong work ethic, a heart to serve, and a fun, gentle wit. He worked as an accountant for Lakeshore Equipment & Supply Company (LESCO) in Cleveland, Ohio, until his retirement in 1990.
Malcolm was always an active member of the church. This included Wesley Methodist Church in Cleveland, Ohio, Strongsville United Methodist also in Ohio, and White Plains United Methodist Church in Cary, North Carolina.
After moving to North Carolina, Malcolm became an active member of the Capital Squares Dance Club and Cary XYZ Club, both of which he loved. In addition to dancing and XYZ, Malcolm spent much of his retirement volunteering – at Regency Park, in Cary, for the NC Symphony and as a Volunteer Ambassador at Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU) where he received the Isaac Hunter Award for Excellence in Service in 2002 and was Volunteer of the Year in 2009. After 19 years at RDU, he retired from volunteer service in 2018. Malcolm made a conscious choice to help out as he could whenever there was a need.

Pannell (Elizabeth), David and Aaron Thompson, Stella Maloney, and Alex Pannell; and great great grandson Jeremiah Malcolm Pannell; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and his dear friend, Becky Wooten.
