Born on August 29, 1954, in Bogota, Colombia, Luisa was the daughter of Ana Sofia Arango and Ricardo Arango. She spent her formative years in Colombia and later moved to Jackson Heights, NY, in 1977. There, she embraced new opportunities and built a nurturing home with her children, Juan and Maria. In 1985, Luisa relocated to New Jersey with her children, where she pursued and obtained her Master's Degree in Social Work from Kean University. She dedicated the majority of her career to serving as an elementary school social worker in New Jersey.
Luisa will be fondly remembered for her warm spirit, generous heart, and unwavering commitment to spreading love and joy to everyone around her. Her genuine kindness left an indelible mark on countless individuals. Whether she was in the school, helping young children thrive, or at home, playing with her grandchildren, she possessed a remarkable ability to make those in her presence feel valued and supported. Above all, her greatest source of love and joy was her family. Luisa also held a deep affection for all animals, with a special fondness for dogs and cats.
Luisa is survived by her son Juan Cruz and his partner Stacey Butcher, her daughter Maria Bullis and her husband Ryan Bullis, as well as her beloved grandchildren Noah and Abigail Bullis. She is also survived by her furry grandchildren Ruby Sue, Pepper (Kitty), Nippers, and Hershey.
A memorial service to celebrate Luisa's life will be held on Friday, April 12, at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home in Cary, NC. All who knew her or the family are welcome to attend and pay their respects.
