Lottie was born in Jefferson, Ga. to the late Emory Dewey Holden and Ethel Faulkner Holden. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Joseph Stephen Painter.
Lottie is survived by her daughter, Bonnie Stanley, her son-in-law, Stuart Stanley, two granddaughters, Heather Stanley and Laura Stanley, and a grandson, Cory Painter.
Lottie will be lovingly remembered for her unconditional love for her family and friends, her zest for life and living each day to the fullest, and her exquisite style. She never met a stranger and would love to talk to anyone she met. She would know their life story within minutes.
Lottie loved traveling to the mountains and the beach. She found great joy in the little things in life, the wind blowing through the trees, the sound of a flowing creek, a glass of red wine while watching a sunset, and countless other things most people take for granted.
She was fiercely independent and had great strength and determination. Whatever Lottie set out to do in her life, she was able to do and carried with her a positive attitude until the very end. Lottie was a beloved Mother, Mother-in-Law, and Grandmother. She had a contagious positive energy and was a blessing to all who knew and loved her. She will be missed beyond measure.
Per Lottie’s request, there will be no visitation or funeral. A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers or cards, get your favorite beverage and watch a sunset in remembrance of her. Life is short. Find joy in the little things.
