Linda Henderson Duffield

Born in Florence, SC she was the daughter of Ralph E. Henderson and Barbara “Bobbie” G. Henderson of Hartsville, SC. She is preceded in death by her grandparents, James and Laura Henderson, Robert and Macy Goodson; and nephew, Drew Decker.

She graduated from Hartsville High School, grew up in Emmanuel Baptist Church, attended and worked at Clemson University, and was a proud Clemson Tiger. She later moved to NC, worked in insurance, and was most recently at NCBCBS.

Linda was a warrior of Stage IV metastatic Breast Cancer. She was a phenomenal force that battled over 8 years, rarely letting cancer deter her from living an active lifestyle. She worked tirelessly for the Susan Komen Foundation to educate others and raise funds for a cure!

Linda leaves behind her husband, Michael Duffield of the home; her parents of SC; sons, William “Ashley” Beard (Alicia) and their children, Jackson and Sadie all of Holly Springs, and Joshua Edward Beard (Caitlin) and their children, Isaiah, Brady, Tate and Jade all of Apex; brother, Rock Henderson (Roxie) of Florence, SC; sister, Laura Decker (David) of Hartsville, SC; special nieces and nephews, Eric and Trey Henderson, Kelly Decker, Savannah Henderson; and father and mother-in-law, George and Carolyn Duffield.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Susan Moore, Marie Carr PA and the staff of Rex Hospital Oncology for their many years of devoted care. Also, a thanks to her special friend and angel Belinda Thompson.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 1, 2018 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home in Cary. A celebration of life service will be held 2:00 PM Friday, March 2, 2018 at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home in Cary. Please honor Linda’s request to wear pink or bright colored clothing.
