Lena Mae Eaker

Lena Mae Eaker, age 103, went to her heavenly home on Friday, March 15, 2024. She was born on May 26, 1920 in Portsmouth, VA to her parents, William Henry and Ethel Crowder Smith. On September 12, 1939, Lena Mae married the love of her life, Douglas Andrew Eaker, and they were married for 73 years. She was a Pearl Harbor survivor, as Douglas was a WWII Navy Veteran. She was an active member in Eastern Star and First United Methodist Church of Cary.

Lena Mae is survived by her two sons, Gregory (Peggy) and Russell (Deborah); 7 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 8 great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband, Douglas; and sons, Douglas Jr., and Phillip.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM-12:00 PM on Thursday, March 21, 2024 at First United Methodist Church of Cary, 117 S. Academy Street, Cary, NC. A funeral service will be at 12:00 PM, on Thursday, March 21, 2024 at First United Methodist Church of Cary. Burial will immediately follow at Montlawn Memorial Park, 2911 S. Wilmington Street, Raleigh, NC.
