So difficult to believe your best friend from childhood could be gone so soon. My heart breaks for his Mom and sister, his boys, and all those who loved him. I’ll remember the countless memories we made growing up. From playing with everyone in the court, to sleepovers, Evans Little League baseball, and so many more.  Although we had not been in touch in years, I often thought about him and how he was doing. Kurt will be remembered forever in our hearts and from all the amazing memories we have.

Kurt got my attention when I saw this picture in an online profile. It was the beginning of something so special… 
In the brief time we were together, he showed me what true love means, and proved to me that it can come from the most bizarre situations like tripping in my Xmas lights and breaking his ankle! Since then, he kept saying that we met for a reason, and I don’t know how I’m supposed to live without the sound of his voice, his sarcastic jokes, his wit in thoughts and manners, his wise words, his immense heart, his compassion and empathy for others, and the passion we shared for animals. He was unique in every aspect a person can be, a good man, a good father who talked about his boys with so much love and pride. 
I’m in disbelief that he is gone, my heart is completely shattered.  Time didn’t measure the intensity of my love for him. 
He told me “I want to be with you forever “, but his forever has come too soon and it’s going to leave this unbearable emptiness. When my forever comes, we will live this love we had for each other that couldn’t be longer in our present journey. 
I will never stop loving you. Being with you was the most precious blessing. See you soon, my love.

Kurt dog my man ,boy did we have some great times.  Nothing was better then Friday mornings back in the day.  We both knew right where we would be
At the record store.  Buying brand new records then going back to your loft.  Hanging out talking and laughing playing new tunes. We bonded thru music and music i still listen to because of you. Man those days were so simple. Thank you for being my friend

I worked with Kurt at Square 1 Bank for 13 years.  I managed Treasury Management Operations.  We worked together to make sure our customers experienced the best service possible with the bank's products and services.  I left the bank in 2019 but continued my friendship with Kurt over the years.  He will be missed greatly.

There are no words that can express my sorrow and grief at your loss of you dear and beloved son.  You and your family have gone through too, too much pain and nothing can explain why. I met Kurt in high school when we shared a class together. He and I hit it off immediately, forming a friendship that would span many years. We eventually played football together and even became roommates after graduation.

I'll always remember his charismatic smile that could truly light up any room he entered. His warm presence and genuine nature made everyone around him feel welcome and appreciated.

We shared a passionate love for college football—Kurt a dedicated Michigan University fan and I a loyal Penn State supporter. Throughout the years, we always made time to either watch the games together or at least exchange messages during the annual Penn State-Michigan matchup. Those game days became cherished traditions that strengthened our bond despite our good-natured rivalry.

The memories we created together—from those intense football games to quiet conversations late at night in our shared apartment—remain vivid in my mind. I will never forget the many great times we shared, the laughter we exchanged, and the unwavering friendship that defined our relationship through all of life's changes.

I will always have a special place for you in my heart. I love you. Rest in peace. "Mom" Rice.

I grew up with Kurt on the baseball diamonds, football fields, and basketball courts. Most of my memories of us  but not all were basically in his own backyard at the Evans Youth complex. There was nothing holding us back during those years. A lot of times we felt like we were invincible and that reflected in our success on the diamonds and fields we played on. Not as much on the courts but hey at least we tried. He reached out to me at a time when I could use the support not too long ago (last year). I appreciated it and I know through our conversations he knew that as well. We reminisced. It was uplifting. Although over time we grew apart through living in different states and raising families of our own, when we reconnected it was like our friendship picked up right where it left off. He was so proud of his children as I am of mine and we shared stories of them as well. We were a brotherhood of friends who cared and loved each other like we were family. I will miss you my friend. My brother.  One day we will reminisce again.
