Kim is survived by her husband of 42 years, Jean “Red” Frechette, daughter Denise MacMillan and husband Bill of Cary, NC, son George Frechette and wife Davila of Natick, MA, sister Loretta Gannon and husband Bill, brother Stan Kimble, eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents George and Ruth Kimble, her infant son David Pike, and her brother George Kimble.
Kim was born in Ashland Massachusetts on December 29, 1937. She graduated from Ashland High School where she was class president and head cheerleader. She had a lively and generous spirit, loved birding, gardening, reading mystery novels, baking cookies, decorating and cooking for holiday celebrations, singing and dancing, trips to Cape Cod and the Maine coast, and most especially, her family.
Kim was self-reliant, spoke her mind directly, and worked hard to overcome the barriers that came her way.
A memorial service will be held at 3 PM on Sunday, January 15 at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Raleigh.
Flowers are welcome, as are memorial donations to Hospice of Wake County, 200 Hospice Circle, Raleigh, NC 27607.
