Kenneth Boyd Allen

He was born on June 15, 1949 in Wake County to the late William Lester Allen and Virginia Whitehurst Allen.

K.B. was a job steward for the local 3611 chapter of the Communications Workers of America (CWA) labor union. He retired in January 2003 with 30 years of service to BellSouth.

K.B. was a devoted family man who had a passion for fishing at the beach. He served as an assistant scout master in Troop 201.

K.B. is survived by his wife of 37 years Paula Flowe Allen; sons Matthew and wife Heidi of Texas, Clinton and wife Hollie of Apex; two granddaughters Payton and Reagan Allen; sisters Diane Allen of Georgia, Teresa Allen Newman and husband Norris of Raleigh, Vicki Allen Dupree and husband Hall of Raleigh; brother Gary Allen of Raleigh; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home in Cary on Monday, August 1st from 6 – 8 p.m.

Funeral Services will be held at First United Methodist Church, 117 S. Academy Street, Cary on Tuesday, August 2nd at 1 p.m. Burial will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park, 2911 S. Wilmington Street, Raleigh with military honors.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bridge the Gap Mission, 130 East Morgan Street, Raleigh, 27601.
