She was born on July 20, 1951 and grew up in Marshfield, WI, daughter of the late Norman J. and Melba Jacobitz. She graduated from Marshfield Senior High School in 1971. Karen was a U. S. Army veteran entering military active duty in 1971 for a three year stint, duty stationed in New Jersey and New York. She met the love of her life, George, they were married in 1974, Jamaica, New York and had two beautiful daughters. Karen retired in 2007 from the Department of Veterans Affairs following thirty-six years of dedicated services as an administrator in medical service.
A celebration of her life is planned for Thursday, August 22, 2013 at 7 PM, at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 200 S.E. Maynard Road, Cary, NC 27511.
Karen is survived by her loving husband, George W. Robinson of thirty-nine years; two daughters, Kena L. Robinson of Raleigh, NC and Shanna J. Robinson of Cary, NC; a grandson, JaVon W. Robinson of Cary, NC; two sisters, Lois Palmer of Antigo, WI and Mary (Daniel) Decker of Dorchester, WI; two brothers, Darrel Jacobitz (Bev Hardin) of Homedale, ID and Wayne Jacobitz of Mount Vernon, TX; six sisters-in-law and two brothers-in-law; nieces and nephews along with numerous relatives and caring friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Karen’s memory to Hospice of Wake County, 250 Hospice Circle, Raleigh, NC 27607.
