Judith Gillen Hodges passed away peacefully Saturday after a brief illness. She was a long time resident of Cary NC.
Judith was born in Akron, Ohio to Lawrence and Martha Gillen. She moved to Raleigh in her pre-teen years and later graduated from Cary High School. Then she began a long career in public service working for the state of North Carolina in many capacities. She retired from the North Carolina Board of Elections in 2006.
Judith is preceded in death by her grandmother Ethel Turner, and her sister Jean Allen. She is survived by her husband Pete Hodges; son Doug and wife Teresa; son Jeff and wife Theresa; daughter Nichole; two grandchildren Megan and Christopher; and niece Regina Hevia.
The family will receive friends and relatives at Brown Wynne Funeral Home in Cary on Thursday June 23 at 1:00pm. To be followed by a memorial service at 2:00pm.
