Joan Pierson Osborn was born April 22,1930 in Albany, NY. She graduated from the Child’s Hospital School of Nursing and was working as a dental assistant where she met Bob who came in for an appointment. They were married for 65 wonderful years.
Joan spent much of her life in the service of others as a long-term volunteer at Saint Peter’s and Child’s Hospital in Albany. She enjoyed being surrounded by family and friends (especially at Thanksgiving), reading, playing bridge, and going to the oceans and the lakes. She and Bob spent many years at their Friends Lake cabin in New York relaxing and hosting happy hours on the deck or on the lake in Captain Bob’s pontoon boat with her dear Rogers Cottages crew. She had an infectious smile and quick wit.
She was the daughter of the late Howard and June Osborn of Albany New York and mother of the late Robin Yaguda.
Joan is survived by her husband Robert, son Jeffrey Yaguda, his wife Julianne and granddaughter Kathryn of Cary, NC; grandson Zachary Yaguda, his wife Keely and great grandchildren Ellie and Harrison of Portland, Oregon; grandson Andrew Yaguda of New York City; and close relatives with whom she deeply loved.
She will be deeply missed by her family, friends and all that knew her. Due to covid restrictions there will be no service, instead a celebration of her life will be planned at a later date.
