Jane Cummins Kopczynski

Jane Kopczynski passed away at her home on August 18, 2024. She was born August 8, 1934 in Columbus, Ohio to John and Kathryn Cummins. Jane graduated from Ohio State University and North Carolina State University and practiced for many years as a clinical dental hygienist before becoming the Risk Manager, Quality Assurance for the UNC Dental School. Jane held many leadership positions at the local, state and national levels in Dental Hygiene.

Jane loved her spouse of 52 years, Stanley, but lost him to cancer in 2009. She is survived by her children, Tracy Pruitt and husband, Johnny of Mebane, Gregory Kopczynski and wife, Eiko of Honolulu, HI, Dean Kopczynski and wife, Kristine of Fairport, NY, Casey Kopczynski and wife, Jenny of Chapel Hill, Dale Kopczynski of Cary, and Todd Kopczynski and wife, Barbara of Charlotte, as well as 15 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Patty Stember and Barbara Vagedes, and brothers David and Michael Cummins.

Jane had a sense of humor which helped her survive the teenage years of six children. Her greatest loves were her family, her Church, her God, and her water aerobics, which helped her reach the ripe old age of 90.

The Funeral Mass will be held Monday, August 26 at 1 pm followed by internment in the columbarium at St. Michael the Archangel Church, 804 High House Road, Cary, NC (livestream https://www.stmichaelcary.org/live-mass/). An onsite reception will follow.
