Jane J. Boland

Cary, NC – Mrs. Jane J. Boland, 87, of Cary, NC died Wednesday, March 28, 2012 surrounded by her loving family after a long illness. She lived in the Cary and Apex, NC area since 1999 and formerly lived in Chelsea, NY for 40 years.

Mrs. Boland was born on March 10, 1925 in Elizabeth, NJ and was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Catherine Jacek. She received her Nursing training at Orange Memorial Hospital Center in Orange, NJ. She was employed as a Registered Nurse by the Veterans Administration Hospital at Castle Point, NY for 15 years before retiring in 1988 from the Health Services department of Texaco Research Center, Glenham, NY after 12 years. Jane is a member of St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church in Cary, NC and was a prior member of St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church in Beacon, NY.

On April 24, 1959 Jane married Austin M. Boland (Mike) of Chelsea, NY at St. Mary's Church in Fishkill, NY who predeceased her on Nov 8, 2004. Mrs. Boland is survived by her sons, Mark A. Boland and his wife, Claire of Cary, NC and Matthew F. Boland and his wife, Louise of Wakefield, MA; three granddaughters, Emily and Lindsay Boland of Cary, NC, and Sarah Boland of Wakefield, MA; one brother-in-law, Charles Coughlin of Chelsea, NY; one sister-in-law, Eileen Coughlin of Chelsea, NY; and many loving nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Boland was preceded in death by her parents; her granddaughter, Melissa Boland; her sister, Elizabeth Popielarczyk; and her four brothers, Thaddeus, Frederick, Sigmund, and Raymond Jacek.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 2, 2012 at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Cary. Burial will follow in Raleigh Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, April 1, 2012 at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 200 SE Maynard Rd., Cary, NC.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Jane's name to Hospice of Wake County, 250 Hospice Circle, Raleigh, NC 27607.
