Jane Nettie (Williams) Afifi, 96, of Woodland Terrace in Cary, NC passed away peacefully early Saturday, April 6, 2024, at her home, surrounded by family. She was born in Pawnee City, Nebraska on June 13, 1927, and was the daughter of the late Edward Henry Williams and Nettie Edith (Bayless) Williams. She is preceded in death by her two brothers, Dean Williams and Harold Williams. She is survived by her three daughters: Sarah Patton, Anne Heath, and Randa Davenport, and their families including seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Jane graduated from the University of Michigan in 1950 with degrees in voice, French, and piano, and later obtained her Doctorate in Education from East Tennessee State University in 1980.
Jane enjoyed life to the fullest as she walked in faith with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She participated in the community theatre, enjoyed biblical studies, singing, photography and writing poetry as she reflected on her life in Christ. She will be remembered for her faithful love and care for her family, and for her love and faithful encouragement towards her grandchildren. Romans 8:28
A private service will be held Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at Brown Wynne Funeral Home in Cary and burial to follow at Raleigh Memorial Park. Brown Wynne Funeral Home of Cary is honored to serve the family of Jane Afifi.
