An open visitation for Mr. Harris will be held Friday, April 28, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Cary Alliance Church, 4108 Ten Ten Rd, Apex, NC 27539. A funeral service will occur Friday, April 28, 2023 at 3:00 PM and the family will briefly visit with friends before proceeding to a private burial alongside his family at Corinth Baptist Church in Louisburg, North Carolina.
Mr. Harris was preceded in death by his mother and father, Jodie Faulkner Harris and Foster Mann Harris; his brother Roger Harris; and the absolute one and only love of his life, Eleanor Joyce Harris.
He leaves to cherish his memory and carry on the legacy his daughter, Kim Cowsert and her husband, Jack Cowsert, his pride and joy, his grandchildren, Kathryn Jodi Cowsert and Jackson Harris Cowsert; sister in law, Kaye Harris, niece, Denise Meshaw (Greg) and her daughter Elizabeth and nephew, Rob Harris (Allison) and their children, Tyler and Emily Harris.
To say that Mr. Harris was the essence of all that is good in Franklin County, North Carolina and the South as a whole is an understatement. He was reared to care for family, friends and the community at all cost. Accordingly, his Father took on the care of an orphaned young man who could neither read nor write and had no home. The Harris family arranged for him to have a home and took on his care as one of their own family members. Before Mr. Harris’ own father passed away he asked Henry and his brother to continue caring for the now older man. Harris and his brother did just that – they cared for James until the day he died. Family and friends were of the utmost importance to Mr. Harris. And Faith was not just a word. It was to be held close and practiced from the heart. Faith. Family. Friends. Indeed the best of Franklin County.
Brown-Wynne Funeral Home and Cremations is honored to be serving the Harris family. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared within "add a memory".
