Glenda Lee (Lichtenberger) Schultz, 89, went home to be with the Lord on March 25, 2025 after a brief battle with cancer. Glenda was born in Carmi, IL on March 27, 1935. She graduated from Carmi-White County High School and earned a Bachelor of Science in Music Education from the University of Illinois (Urbana) where she met Allan Schultz. Glenda & Allan were married in Carmi on August 25, 1957 and started life together in Paxton, MA but moved to Palm Beach Gardens, FL in 1963 where Glenda remained until moving to Fuquay-Varina, NC in 2024.
In addition to being a devoted wife to Allan for 65 years and a wonderful mother to her three sons, Kirk, Scott and Randy, Glenda was a musician through-and-through. She taught voice, piano and flute both publicly and privately, was a member of two community bands 40 years of which was with the Symphonic Band of the Palm Beaches, was an active band parent for 10 years and choir director & pianist at Palm Bible Chapel. Before moving to NC, Glenda was an active member of First Presbyterian Church of North Palm Beach where she sang in the choir, played her flute and taught music in their Fun Art’s camp. Wherever she went, Glenda used the talents God had given her, whether in a music ministry or teaching Sunday School, she always did it for His glory.
For all of her many accomplishments, Glenda would say her greatest was her family. She was a wonderful wife & mother. She loved us and poured her life into ours. We loved her, we will miss her but we hold fast to the hope that we will see her again one day soon!
Glenda is preceded in death by her husband, Allan Schultz, her parents, William J. and Gladys L. Lichtenberger, daughter-in-law, Myrian (Kirk) Schultz and brother, Wayne (Bonnie) Lichtenberger. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Bonnie Lichtenberger, sons Kirk of Jupiter, FL, Scott (Ann) of Macon, GA, Randy (Debbie) of Willow Spring, NC; her grandchildren Bryan Pierce, Tyler Schultz, Ashley (Aaron) Kenyon, Andrew Schultz, Matthew Schultz, Joseph (Kate) Schultz; her great-grandchildren Lauren Pierce, Adelyn Kenyon, and William Schultz.
