Franz Wolf

Franz Wolf of Mahopac New York passed away on Wednesday, April 27, 2022, at the age of 92. After several months of declining health, Franz died peacefully in hospice care near 2 of his 4 children that live in North Carolina.

Franz was born in Zemin, Yugoslavia now modern-day Serbia, on December 18, 1929, to father Joseph Wolf and mother Irene Wolf. Franz. His family moved to Austria and then settled in Germany for better work and educational opportunities. The family was in Berlin prior to the start of World War II and unfortunately Franz lost his older brother and many of their family homes and possessions during the bombing of Berlin toward the end of WWII.

At the end of the war, Franz and his parents emigrated from Germany to the US and entered New York via Ellis Island to settle and build their new lives. Franz trained as a draftsman, then began work as a licensed architect for General Foods then for IBM for over 20 years.

Franz was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Felix Wolf, and his beloved wife Gisela Wolf. He is survived by his children and their spouses; Grace (Wolf) & Dennis Chase, Gisela (Wolf) & William Donovan, Ursula (Wolf) & Todd Zullo, Peter & Misty Wolf; and his 9 grandchildren.
