Our beautiful and beloved Mother, Eugenia M. Eagle, was taken to heaven on Thursday 8/8 after a brief illness. Just 17 days short of her 94th birthday, our Mother had a full and wonderful life always giving of herself as a wife, Mother, Grandmother, sister, or aunt.
Eugenia was born on August 25th, 1930 in Trenton, NJ to Adolf and Sophie Pieslak. She and her twin were the youngest of 6 brothers and 5 sisters all of whom preceded her in death. After graduating from Trenton High School, Eugenia worked for the State of NJ prior to marrying her adored husband, Edward Eagle, Sr. They were married 58 years prior to his passing 6 years ago. The newly married couple resided in Hamilton NJ for 40 plus years raising 2 children, Patricia and Edward, Jr., and were later blessed with 3 grandchildren. Eugenia and Edward were active in many organizations, clubs and their parish St. Raphael’s in Hamilton, NJ.
Eugenia spent many years working as a devoted Mother and wife and organizing the home. She loved to cook and was known for her wonderful Polish dishes especially during the holidays. Her skills in language and organization were later used when she again worked as a secretary for the State of NJ totaling 25 years before retirement.
After retiring, Eugenia and Edward moved to the Heritage Pines community in Cary, NC to spend more time with their grandkids. What a wonderful, active 20 years they had together in retirement.
Eugenia then resided at Waltonwood Senior Living of Cary for the last 2 and a half years of her life.
Eugenia is survived by her son, Edward Jr., and his wife, Janine of Ridgefield, CT and their son Ned. Her daughter, Patricia Eagle and her husband Ralph Dewey of Apex, NC and their children Allyson and Austin; as well as many nieces and nephews. Her passing ended a generation of a devoted and fun-loving Polish family that included brothers Theodore, Harry, Herman, Edward, Walter and Raymond and sisters Theresa, Hedwig, Helen and her twin Stella.
Eugenia was a faithful, loving person who brought many gifts to her family, always showing by example the importance and value of loving and caring for family. She was a wonderful Mother who was always there when needed, offering support and love. She has left us with a lifetime of cherished memories.
A Visitation with family will be held on Saturday, August 17th at 12:30 pm, a half-hour prior to the Funeral Mass at 1:00pm at St Michael the Archangel Catholic Church on High House Road in Cary.
