Eric Andrew Rost

Eric was born May 4, 1996 in Williamsville, NY. In 1997, he and his family moved to Cary, NC. He attended Northwoods Elementary School and later, Chesterbrook Academy. He completed middle school and high school at Cary Academy.

He attended UNC Charlotte, Wake Tech and was completing his degree with Penn State University. Eric had recently received his real estate license and was working in the family business.

Eric loved cars and loved to race them. He earned his racing license in 2019. He attended driving events at several road courses. Virginia International Raceway was his favorite. He was truly exhilarated by the sport and was planning to become a race instructor.

Music was another passion of Eric’s. He played guitar and had written some of his own music and recorded it with friends. He loved to play with his brother, Sean, and was teaching his sister, Kaelin to play as well.

Eric was a natural athlete. He played both ice and inline hockey when he was young, later enjoyed dirt biking, 4 wheeling, BMX and skateboarding. At Cary Academy, he pole-vaulted and played lacrosse. He loved wakeboarding and surfing behind the family boat at Kerr Lake. He enjoyed vacationing in Colorado where he would ski and snowboard.

Eric had a zest for life and lived it with vigor. He had an authentic wit and charm and easily made friends where ever he went. He was a bright light whose energy will live in those who knew and loved him forever.
